Responsibilities

Development Support at Rockstar meant being the connective tissue between teams — finding problems before players did and making sure fixes didn't create new ones. The role required a broad understanding of how every system in the game interacted, since a bug in one area could surface as a symptom somewhere else entirely. That meant knowing the game deeply, and communicating clearly across departments about what was found and why it mattered.

What I worked on

  • Collaborated closely with different teams to keep game performance stable across all major platforms and PC configurations, balancing each department's needs throughout the process
  • Conducted extensive platform testing across Xbox One, PS4, and PC — identifying bugs and following through on them to ensure optimal performance and player experience
  • Used a holistic understanding of the game's systems to quickly identify root causes and route issues to the right team
  • Maintained close attention to detail when testing new changes, making sure they had the intended impact without introducing unintended side effects elsewhere
  • Anticipated how changes would land for players by leveraging an in-depth knowledge of game mechanics — catching potential issues during testing before they reached the public
